Admission Requirements

1. Applicant must provide a statement of their high school diploma, G.E.D. California State Proficiency Test results or its equivalent, and pass an admissions test. School personnel administer the admissions test. For a student that is foreign to the United States, the applicant is required to write a statement certifying the completion of High School or its equivalent. The statement must include name of high school, city, state and country where the high schools is located, date of graduation and the reason why records may not be available.
2. Students lacking a High School Diploma or its equivalent, must be at least 18 years old (Compulsory school attendance in California), have a 10th grade education or its equivalent as required by Bureau of Barbering and Cosmetology and pass the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam prior to admission with a passing score of 15 or better.

Admission Procedures

To apply for admission, applicants should contact a school representative to schedule an appointment for testing, a personal interview and tour of the school. Applicants are notified by telephone or letter of their acceptance or reasons for not being accepted within three days of completing their test. Accepted applicants will complete an enrollment agreement, pay a $75.00 non-refundable enrollment fee and scheduled to begin training.

 

Transfer Policy

Students requesting credit for prior training or experience outside of California must furnish proof of the number of hours of training to the State Board for Barbering and Cosmetology and to the school. The College will evaluate a student's prior training in the State of California by way of an Official Proof of Training Document. Palace Beauty College only accepts transfer students under certain conditions and does not recruit from other schools.
