Staff Introduction

Studied Fashion in at Han Yang University in Seoul, Korea. Went on to continue her studies at Christian Chauveux, L’ecole L’etoile and L’ecole Superieure Des Art Et Techniques de la Mode in Paris, France. After learning fashion and hair styling in Paris, Helena worked on a collection at K&M. She then graduated to work for Cosmopolitan Magazine Korea in the Fashion Department. After working with a team of designers, stylists and writers, Helena took on the challenge of owning her own salon for several years. In 2009, Helena was living in America and chose to tackle teaching and she has been with us since.
Monica studied cosmetology at Cynthia’s Beauty Academy. She then taught at Elegante for several years. Elegante was bought out by Marinello and they kept her on staff after the merger. In addition to teaching, Monica has stayed on top of her skillset as a stylist by working in salons during her teaching career. She is also OPI and BHP certified and is talented with nails as she is with hair.
Ms. Irma Mancilla is a Licensed Cosmetologist with continued education in the Teacher Trainee program. Ms. Irma has been teaching for 17 years and has been working behind the salon chair for over 22 years. Upon completion of the Teacher Trainee program, Ms. Irma followed her career path knowing that she possessed the capability to teach and share her knowledge with those following her path. Over 37 years of experience in the beauty industry. She has successfully owned 3 shops over a span of 14 years. After owning the stores, she decided to challenge herself by working for a permanent make-up school, “New Face”, for 3 years. She was then certified to do permanent make-up. After indulging in Make-up for a few years, Irma began her career as a cosmetology instructor at Marinello. After working there for 5 years, she moved on to join the Palace family and has been with us ever since.
Was an Art Major in Santa Monica and took a year off to enroll in Beauty School. Began his career in hairdressing at Vidal Sassoon. He always had a passion for design and architecture and decided to apply that passion to hairdressing. He lived in New York for three years to focus more on fashion and editorial work for Arrojo Salon. He was later hired by Paul Mitchell as a haircut and color educator. The main focus is now mentoring future professionals and setting them up for success in the field of cosmetology.
Monique Cain has been teaching the artistic skills of Barbering for over 16 years and is also a licensed Cosmetologist. Ms. Moe became aware of her passion for teaching within the first hour of her training in Barbering, “I knew instructing would be my career and was granted a Teacher Trainee scholarship to pursue my dream. My goal as an Instructor is to make sure that students who cross my path receive complete exposure in the field of Barbering”.
Ms. Lopez received her Esthetician license in 2001 and holds a post graduate certificate from the International Derma Institute. Prior to becoming an Instructor, Ms. Lopez held a position from 2001-2005 at the Hair Art salon as an Skin Therapist. Ms. Lopez, came to Palace Beauty College in 2007 and continues to teach with great passion. “Teaching is not a job nor work to me, it is my passion and my play ground. I have fun teaching it, it brings me happiness and excitement. It is fulfilling and rewarding for me to help my students accomplish their dreams and goals of having a career where they can grow and be successful. I feel we are all healers in the beauty industry in many different ways, and making a difference in each person’s life”.
Ms. Sabena Horn proudly holds a license in the field of Esthetician, Cosmetology, Manicuring, and Massage Therapy. “I have been teaching for 13 years and I Love it! I like to make a difference in people’s lives through teaching and making learning a fun and enjoyable experience”. My goal is to provide the best education for students as well as preparing students to becoming licensed and ready to work in the industry”.

Brian is an experienced licensed massage therapist. He is certified in Bodywork (a method of deep tissue trigger point and structural integration), and his massage styles range from stress reduction relaxation massage to sports massage. Brian has practiced with
local chiropractors and area businesses, and is engaged in private practice. He has presented educational workshops, to a variety of audiences, on the health and wellness benefits of massage. Brian’s mission is to support individuals in achieving life balance through personal wellness. A firm believer in the inseparable connection between body/mind, Brian is a proponent of massage
for relieving physical as well as emotional stress, and strongly believes in massage as a viable modality for enhancing overall health and well-being.
“I graduated from Los Angeles Trade Tech College. I got my cosmetology license in 2001. I graduated with a deans award by having a 3.8 GPA. After working as a stylist for 3 years, I went back to school to get my teacher training. Since then I have worked as a cosmetology Instructor for 13 years. I made the best decision by choosing this industry. I love teaching my students my experience and techniques that I acquired throughout my years of working in the field of cosmetology.”
